These paintings are inspired from the Ghanaian Adinkra symbols. You see these symbols everywhere even though traditionally they began purely on fabrics for funerals. Now you can find them on houses, ceramics, jewellery and fabrics.
Ever since I have been in Ghana I have wanted to capture my favourite symbols. They are my favourite either for their design or their meaning. I am very happy with these two paintings and am sure I will do more. I would also like to go bigger now and combine my beach scenes with the symbols. This will give my images a more interesting design and a personal message.
